Black Hills Corporation is a customer-focused and growth-oriented utility company. The Company's segments include Electric Utilities, regulated Gas Utilities, Power Generation, and Mining. Its Electric Utilities segment generates, transmits and distributes electricity to approximately 218,000 electric utility customers in Colorado, Montana, South Dakota and Wyoming. Its Gas Utilities segment serves approximately 1,094,000 natural gas utility customers in Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Its Power Generation segment produces electric power from its wind, natural gas and coal-fired generating plants and sells the electric capacity and energy primarily to its utilities under long-term contracts. Its Mining segment produces coal at its mine near Gillette, Wyoming, and sells and delivers primarily under long-term contracts to adjacent mine-mouth electric generation facilities owned by its Electric Utilities and Power Generation businesses.
